Privacy, plainly.
A short, concrete account of what this site collects, why, how long we keep it, and how to reach us about it.
Updated 5 October 2026.
Who runs this site
UGIPL (Urban Gourmet India Private Limited) runs this site with The Breakfast Revolution. Gifts are made on The Breakfast Revolution's own donate page, under its own privacy terms. This site never sees a payment.
What we collect, and why
- If you make an account: your email address and the name you give us (with Google sign-in, the name and picture Google shares), to run your account. Your password is held by our sign-in provider and never stored by us in readable form.
- Recipes and feedback: recipes you save and taste-test feedback you send, so you can see them again. Feedback is about a recipe and a school, never about a named child.
- Designing with Ojas: a record that your account generated a recipe, and when, to keep the free service fair. What you type to Ojas goes to Anthropic, the AI provider behind it, to produce the answer.
- Partnership enquiries: the name, work email, company, role, budget, message and tier you send from the partners page, so we can reply. A copy may be emailed to the people who handle partnerships.
- The update list: your email address, to send occasional news about the recipes and the programme.
- Certificates: when The Breakfast Revolution confirms a gift and a certificate is issued, the name printed on it, the amount, the number of children and the date. Anyone with the certificate's link can see these; that is what lets it be verified.
- How the site is used: which pages are viewed, which buttons are used (including the link to TBR's donate page), how far people scroll, the site a visit came from, the type of device, and the approximate location of a visit (country, region and city, from our host's network data). The log uses two random identifiers stored in your browser (one per visit, one per browser) that contain nothing about you, and a form of your IP address scrambled with a secret key and the day's date, so it changes every day and cannot be turned back into the address.
- After a donate click: if you come back, we may ask once whether you completed a gift. Answering is optional and records only yes or no.
Cookies and browser storage
Signing in sets cookies that keep you signed in. The usage log keeps its two random identifiers in your browser's storage, and your sound setting is remembered there too. If we switch on Microsoft Clarity, it sets its own cookies to make heatmaps and anonymised session replays, with typed text masked. We run no advertising trackers.
Who else handles it
Supabase (our database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting and page counts), Anthropic (the AI behind Ojas) and, when switched on, Resend (partnership emails), Cloudflare (an anti-spam check on forms) and Microsoft Clarity. Each handles data only to run its service for us, and some of them process it outside India. We do not sell data.
How long we keep it
- Your account, saved recipes and feedback: until you delete them or ask us to.
- Taste-test feedback: 24 months, then deleted.
- Partnership enquiries and the update list: while we are in touch, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Certificates: while the certificate should keep working. The Breakfast Revolution can withdraw one at any time, and the link then stops showing it.
- The usage log: kept to read trends over time. Its identifiers are random and carry nothing about you.
Children
This site is for adults. Accounts are for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect a child's personal data. If you think a child has given us their details, write to us and we will delete them.

Your data, your call
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct, update or delete it, take back a consent you gave (leaving the update list, for example), and name someone to do this for you if you cannot. We reply as soon as we can, and within 90 days at the latest.
Write to arjun.a.dugar@gmail.com with the subject “Data request”; the email reaches both UGIPL and The Breakfast Revolution. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
What we do not do
We do not sell data or run advertising trackers. We never keep your IP address in readable form, and nothing on this site asks a child for their details. The full giving story, including what this site can and cannot see, is on the Give page.
